This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How do you teach your students to use technology when the only resources you have available are outdated and obsolete? In today's world, technology is revolutionizing the way we think, work, and play. My students need updated tools in order to be competitive in today's technologically advanced world.

I teach at a Title 1 school and many of our students live in low-income housing.

The median household income for parents living in this area is $36,000 per year. This might explain why many of my students don't have access to a home computer that they can utilize for homework or research projects. My class is comprised of English Language Learners and students who have specific learning needs. My students are hard-working, energetic, and curious about technology.

My Project

My students will benefit greatly from this new technology. Research has shown that integrating technology into the curriculum increases student achievement. How? Utilizing computers as a tool for learning will enable my students to become active problem solvers. They will learn to conduct research in order to gain knowledge on a specific topic, and they will learn to access websites that will help enhance their reading and math skills. Having a working printer will help them publish their finished products that they can share with the class. My class will be researching the Mission period for an upcoming project. Students normally use library books to learn about their assigned Mission. Please donate to our project so that we can incorporate technology in this project.

Having a working computer, printer, and flash drives will give my students the hands-on experience they will need in order to better understand technology.

My students are highly engaged when given hands-on activities and projects to work on. Your donation will motivate my class to complete their Mission Projects. My students will greatly appreciate your generosity and will take advantage of the opportunity to incorporate technology into this experience.
