Running, runny, runny, a typical day with my students. It is of great concern to me that my students have limited access to computers, digital tools and other forms of technology. "Who dares to teach must never cease to learn." -- John Cotton Dana.
I teach 60 students each week.
My students are naturally curious and are very excited to learn science methods. My students are beginning to acknowledge that science education fuels their inquisitiveness and provides them with priceless ideas, skills, and perhaps potential future vocational choices. For example, scientists are an important part of the future of our world. They are starting to understanding that if they study sciences, they might be able to predict the weather or earthquakes, global warming, develop cures illnesses and help to make the world a better, safer place. With that said, students will better understand these topics if they are exposed to technology. Unfortunately, most of my students are not exposed to technology enough. They are from poor communities, some even live in shelters around the boroughs. Some have no access to a computer at home. They have no access to a Smartboard, a projector or other forms of technology that might enchant their learning.
My Project
My students could benefit from a projector. With a project students would have visual and technological support in their learning. For example, I believe that a Projector and Projector Screen are a key component of any classroom. A projectors and Projector Screen will allow me to present information to my students in a hands-on way. I believe that with the help of a projector, I can now use films, slides, PowerPoint and other digital images to educate and get my students interested in science methods. My students will be able to use their new projector and Projector Screen to learn from the web as it becomes available to the entire class, unlike individual computers, if they are available. I believe that the most complex lessons can be brought to life though integration of a classroom projector. Finally, I believe that my students can get so much more from the curriculum when it is experienced through the radiance and clarity of a projector and Projector Screen. Help us purchase one.
I see my students being excited about learning with their new piece of technology.
I am excited about my students accessing the Internet. I can hardly wait to see my students enjoying interactively learning about science topics via the Internet, through written word and pictures. There is no doubt that using a computer and projector and screen in the classroom will revolutionize the way I teach and the way my students learn. Do your part to help. Thanks and best wishes on behalf of my students.
