My goal is to create an environment where all students can feel safe and strive!
Our school is a Title I school, identified as a School in Need of Improvement (SINI), with approximately 85% of our students eligible for free lunch. I teach 5 different 8th grade classes social studies. My students range from the smartest students in the grade, to among the ones who struggle most, and include both general education, as well as special education students.
My Project
By having a laptop in my classroom, I will be able to utilize it in order to watch history videos that are relevant to the 8th grade social studies curriculum, as a way to engage and help my students understand the material better. My students could also use the laptop in order to access the Internet in order to analyze primary and secondary sources. Having a laptop and access to technology is a necessity for my students so they can be motivated and challenged to learn as much as possible in my classroom.

It will allow my students to envision history through videos, clips, and resources that would otherwise, not be accessible to them. It will change my students' lives for the better because it will enrich their educational experience in my classroom and allow me to be the best teacher for my students that I can be.
