Using Technology (Document Camera) to Support at Home Summer Learning

My Students

My students walk into our classroom everyday full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I ask them, "Who is the best class in the whole world?" and they reply, "We are!" I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything.

I teach at a low-income/high poverty school district where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.

Until we can all be back in our classrooms I need to videotape lessons for my students to continue learning at home. A document camera would support at home learning and classroom learning.

My Project

We are unclear of when and how schools will reopen in the future. I am trying to plan and prepare for a variety of ways learning will take place. This Document Camera will make a huge impact regardless of where the students are learning from. As of today, I will videotape myself teaching review lessons with the support of this new document camera and post the lessons for my students to view at home. Once schools are open, my students will use this document camera to support classroom lessons. Current technology will make a difference in academic success!
