Using STEM to Cultivate the Future: Growing with Technology!
Help me give my students access to several STEM websites to cultivate the future engineers, scientists, nurses, doctor’s, and savvy business entrepreneurs of tomorrow. This year I want to create a dynamic learning environment.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a diverse group of third grade students in a Title 1 school in Homestead, Florida. Our class has a variety of learning levels and learning styles. The school is located in a low to middle class neighborhood. Many of these students do not have access to technology. People want our future generation to be ready to face the world. My students are a mixture of 43 advanced and on level learners that are eager to learn and come to my classroom excited. Please help us reach every child in my classroom.
Our classroom incorporates group work, technology, and hands on activities. They are truly an amazing group of students and I'm thankful to be given the opportunity to help them grow.
My Project
Students will be using these resources every day in class. The students will use the Chrome Books during our math centers by using Reflex Math for fluency and iReady for problem solving. During teacher led instruction, students can participate in a fun game of Kahoot to answer higher order thinking questions during instruction to keep students engaged in a fun and stimulating learning environment. They will have the opportunity to interact with technology to complete their assignments.
The sky is the limit when technology is available to help my students soar.
My students will be able to access several STEM websites to cultivate the future engineers, scientists, nurses, doctor’s, and savvy business entrepreneurs of tomorrow. I believe that each child has their special talents and should be given access to technology.
Twenty-first century students need to be college and career ready with new skills sets like solving problems, learning and applying information, collaborating with peers, and contributing to the greater good of society. Today’s learners need to think, infer, conclude, question, predict, and learn from.
Through your charitable donation, students will use these resources to build a strong foundation to build upon in the future. By fostering an environment of growth and opportunity with access to technology, your donation can make a difference in the life of many children. Help us create a classroom that is dynamic like no other.
