My Project
Our school is a small, relatively new charter school that has been hit hard by recent federal funding cuts. Despite these challenges, we’re working hard to provide our students with a full and meaningful school experience—including access to team sports.
Three years ago, we launched our athletic program, but our progress has been limited due to budget constraints.
As a small school without a playground or on-site athletic facilities, we have to pay for transportation just to get to nearby courts and fields to practice. We’re also trying to participate in local leagues, but the costs quickly add up.
What we’ve found is that athletics isn’t just about competition. It directly supports two major challenges our students face: attendance and engagement. Students involved in sports come to school more consistently, are more connected to their peers and teachers, and feel a sense of pride and purpose.
This project will help us take the next step forward by providing essential sports equipment to our students. With your support, we can begin building a program that gives our students the tools, structure, and motivation they need to thrive—both on the field and in the classroom.
