This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are non-verbal, autistic, have special needs, are fantastic, amazing and energetic K-2 graders, who live in a urban neighborhoods throughout the south side of the city of Chicago. My students attend a school with general education students and together we provide an learning environment that allows all students to thrive in their education.

My students are wonderful, spirited and can light up a room with their presence.

My students have overcome many challenges, and I want to provide them a learning environment that will help them thrive and have success with remote and in-person learning. My students love to learn and are very eager to learn. Setting up a proper learning environment that will makes it possible for my students to learn and thrive during remote learning and once we get back for in-person school learning.

My Project

These materials will help my students who need to touch and feel the lesson. These materials will provided the needed small group instruction for the students who require more assistance and more concrete visuals. These materials will also provide addition support in fine and gross motor skills, which my K-2 cluster students need practice with.

My K-2 cluster students enjoy learning using hands on materials, these small groups materials will enhance their learning and enhance their social and emotional play.

The students love to interact with each other and these materials will allow for my students to learn social cues while learning their sight words and math skills.
