Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students have a great time learning through play. They have learned about their five senses and use them throughout school to experience new learning. The sensory table materials will allow the students to use the sense of touch and sight to explore and learn about letters, numbers, colors, and shapes through various sensory materials. The unique textures are inviting and allow students to explore through light and color.
Learning through sensory play helps get students engaged.
Once they are attracted to a center or material/toy, they are willing to learn on their own. The colorful sensory sand can stimulate my students' imaginations. Continuing with sensory learning, the see-inside water pumps will allow my students to observe what happens to the water when submerged and what happens when the pump is pushed.
The touch-and-feel balls will help the students continue learning about a variety of textures and the sense of touch. The magnetic blocks will allow my students to build upward or side to side, allowing them to explore magnetism through play.
