Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All my students come from Spanish speaking families, I teach them in Spanish while building their English vocabulary and fluency. The majority of my students come from immigrant families.

The neighborhood is mostly Latino and with very close knit, caring, hard working families.

The school is a Title I school and 100% of the students qualify for free lunch.

I enjoy working there and have worked in the same school for many years. I get students that are in college that come to visit and are always grateful that I was their teacher.

My Project

I want to give my students materials that they can use to play while learning. The bears are for them to be able to learn one to one correspondence to count and take away or add more bears. The rekenrek boars are to count up to 20 objects or do addition and subtraction. I want to give them the Alphabet flash card to play games while learning letter names and sounds. The dry erase boards are for them to be able to do math problems and learn how to write words and sentences.
