Using Music in the Classroom to Promote Creative Expression!

My Students
Compassionate, kind, and energetic are only a few of the many attributes the students in my class have. I love to hear them encourage and be positive to one another. Our school serves students in pre-k through 12th grade. It provides a challenging curriculum with many extracurricular activities. Since this school is located near a military base, there are families that come from different cultures. My class is mixed with students who are Asian, Native American, and Hispanic. I love to incorporate new ways to enhance learning, while also making it fun. Playing a musical instrument can create so many learning opportunities.

I would like to purchase musical bells for my students. Every school year each class is to perform a song, dance, etc. I want my students to play bells for their performance in front of their friends and families. Having these items will provide many opportunities for these young aspiring students to reach higher and feel rewarded.
My Project
These musical bells will help provide my students the opportunity for creative expression. They will learn colors, shapes, and sounds during creative play. We will be able to use these instruments in the classroom and for our on stage performances.
Students will be able to build confidence, self esteem, and team work through playing music.
The first project my students will be completing is to learn how to play Jingle Bells for our on stage Christmas performance. There are many learning objectives taught in this one song! My students will be so thrilled and happy to receive musical bells!
