My Students

My students make my job amazing! Everyday they come in eager to learn and excited about what awesome stuff we will learn that day. These students are tech-savvy and crave immediate feedback on their performance.

My students come from a variety of backgrounds.

We have a variety of demographics and abilities represented. I have a population of military families, and groups who travel often for work. My students face adversity head-on and know how to problem-solve. Many students have busy schedules and IXL.com would allow students to practice anytime, anywhere, with any device! This powerful tool leads to automaticity and acquisition in mastering fifth grade tools. I can also differentiate to raise the standards for students who can handle more advanced practice and help struggling students to have multiple exposures to standards. Students can pre-screen upcoming objectives to gain familiarity with a concept. Overall this tool will increase proficiency for all students: special education, gifted, high-achievers, strugglers, and everyone in between!

My Project

Students will use this tool daily! It would be used in the classroom as a center activity and at home for extensions. As our classroom gets closer to a one to one setting, having research-based tools for students to turn to is essential to implement technology successfully! With a subscription to IXL.com, students will learn fifth grade standards in math and language arts in a setting similar to end-of-year assessments.

This project will help my students achieve mastery and have access to practice anywhere with wifi!

Having access to math and language arts anywhere helps bridge the gap between home and school. Thank you for helping my students soar through the core!
