Using Dice, Students Master Math and Have a Blast Learning!

My Students

My third-grade students are eager to learn. They are curious, creative, and have great imaginations even though we are a Title I school in a high poverty neighborhood.

School is a safe place and I do my best to make my classroom fun and exciting.

Most of my students live in public housing. Their neighborhoods are rough and school is a place for them to be safe. My class is mostly African American children who face a lot of challenges.

My job, as a teacher, is to help them overcome these challenges and become the amazing adults I know they can become.

My Project

Using dice makes students eager to learn math. We will be using dice to teach money, fractions, place value, multiplication, addition, subtraction and so much more. Worksheets are boring but add dice and students work hard to learn new concepts. I specifically asked for place value dice, money dice, fraction dice, to help my students master these concepts.

Students who use dice in math centers master the concepts faster and have tons of fun while learning.

It is important to me that my students have every available resource to help them learn. I have some dice in my room and I have seen excellent results using these dice.
