This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Calculators can be vital tools for encouraging students’ mathematical curiosity and conceptual understanding.
Calculators are important in schools because they allow students to focus on the conceptual understanding of mathematics, rather than spending excessive time on tedious calculations.
This enables students to tackle more complex problems, explore mathematical ideas further, and develop critical thinking skills by checking their work and focusing on the reasoning behind the calculations, especially in higher level math where large numbers or intricate operations are involved. With teacher guidance young children can become aware of larger numbers or even negative numbers at an earlier age than they have in the past.
Please help me fund my project! I am asking for a classroom set of student calculators, tissue box covers, silicone cable ties, student pencil holders and hooks to hang their headphones.
