This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first-grade teacher of English Language Learners. They all come from different cultural and educational backgrounds. They all bring into the classroom their rich, cultural experiences.

In my Bilingual class, I have to teach and ensure that all my students learn all subjects like reading, writing, math and science.

My students are at-risk and come from high poverty. Therefore, due to their limitations, my students are in need of additional resources in order to be able to learn and succeed.

My Project

Every week my students do a writing piece. They must follow the five steps of writing. The last writing step is where the students publish their writings.

It is important that every child learns to write and what better way to motivate them, then to include art in their writing.

Therefore, I’m asking for art supplies that my students can include in their writing. When my students write about characters or biographies they will use the people shapes art supplies and add the pon-poms. My students will also use the art letters to include them in writing poems. Therefore, I ask your support.
