This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are yearning for the necessary equipment/tools to improve their fitness levels by using technology and exercise equipment they currently don't have available.
My students are wonderful.
Most of them come from very low income families and lack even the bare necessities in life yet show up everyday with smiles on their faces, eager to learn and improve in all areas. We are a Title I school so the majority of our students receive free & reduced lunch because of great financial needs.
My Project
I have already incorporated technology (TV, projector, DVDs, etc.) in our classroom and would like to add more equipment in order to have an even greater impact and provide access to a greater number of students. Students will be able to simultaneously workout in various stations while working out different body parts and engaging in different activities. The big screen TV and Blu-ray player I am asking for will enable a large group of students to follow the exercise videos regardless of their proximity to the screen/location in the classroom. The Power Tower will be the centerpiece to the fitness area where students can safely workout several different muscle groups in a limited space.
Donations towards this project will help create a well-balanced physical education, health and fitness program.
My students will be able to use technology and fitness equipment they would otherwise never have access to.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
