FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Yee's classroom raised $537
This project is fully funded
I am a 3rd grade teacher at Purche Ave Science/Technology Magnet class. I have 20 minority students in my classroom from low income families. Over the past 4 years I have been developing my own technology curriculum in my classroom and am excited to see how my students have been so captivated and engaged in their learning by the use of technology in the classroom. When parents meet with me for parent/teacher conferences, they often make the same comments-- their students are so excited to be in my class and when they go home they always ask for their own computer. The parents are so amazed by what their children have learned and often ask their children to teach them how to use the computers.
Although many of my students are from low income homes and cannot afford computers, their parents are so dedicated to their learning, that they will go to the library or other homes that have computers so that their child could continue their education at home. Often times students start projects in the classroom and don't have enough time in the day to finish their projects.
I would like to request a class set of USB Flash Drives for my students to borrow and store projects so that they could work on them at home and share them with their families. I have been using my one USB Flash Drive in my classroom and have taught my classes each year how to use them. But having only one flash drive has been very difficult because students are not able to take their computer projects home.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
