My Project
For our final US history and geography project of the school year, my 8th-grade students will be constructing 3-D models that are inspired by the architecture and inventions of the United States. Students will be encouraged to research, design, and then build renowned buildings/structures, sculptures, inventions, machines, devices (e.g. White House, Statue of Liberty, John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge, Fort McHenry, Faneuil Hall, telegraph, steamboat, Model-T, etc.).
Hot glue, cardboard, and craft sticks will provide the bulk of the structures.
We have plenty of craft sticks, but we'll need new hot glue sticks, aluminum foil, wooden dowels, paint, and some special tools to help cut our cardboard.
