This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a wonderful group of third graders. Most of them come from low-economic homes and are English language learners. I have many different levels of English learners, from non-speakers to fluent speakers.
Because of the different levels of English ability I like to have a listening center available so that my English learners can listen to stories and books from the E.S.L. program. Unfortunately, I moved to a different classroom this year which does not have a listening center. Therefore, my students are not able to listen to all the wonderful books on tape that I have.
I would really like to have a listening center in my classroom. I believe that sometimes school is the only place where my students can hear proper English, and the listening center is a perfect tool for them to hear different stories in English. The more they hear the English language, the faster they will acquire and learn to speak it correctly.
Please help me have a listening center in my classroom. Your help will definitely make it possible for my students to listen to stories and learn to speak English faster.
