Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students in my class are the sweetest, kindest, most loving kids I have had the pleasure of teaching. I think I might be a bit biased! They live in a low socioeconomic town on the border of Los Angeles and Kern counties.
These impressionable young minds are so hungry to learn!
Many of these kids do not have access to digital devices outside of the classroom, so when we are in class, they want to learn and explore as much as they can. It warms my heart and soul to see them learn and be successful.
My Project
Anyone who knows anything about working with students knows that having a printer available in the classroom is not just a luxury, it is a necessity.
Our classroom printer has died, and as a teacher and single mom, I do not have the resources to replace it.
Without a working printer, my students cannot print out their essays, they cannot print out their research, and I do not have the capability to be as creative as I would like to be because I do not have the necessary supplies.
A classroom printer is essential to making a day run smoothly. People don't realize how much they rely on technology until they are without it!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
