My Project

Urban Elementary School Farming

I would like to introduce urban farming to my community as well as my current school assignment.

Working in a Title 1 school I see the food disparity and need for nutritional health, access to fresh produce, and an understanding of the importance of a healthy diet. I would like your support in educating and motivating students and families to begin to take charge of what they consume and produce through offering urban farming courses where we teach basic benefits and skills of urban farming. In this role I will be the coordinator from school to farm for the lesson plans, a portion of instruction, and continued education at the school after their visit(s) to a local farm.
