My Students
This is my third year teaching Pre-K in a NYC public school. I will have 13 students in September! I will have 8 boys and 5 girls. I hope that each of them will arrive eager to learn and so excited to begin their school career. Pre-K is the beginning and I believe it is never too early to teach children how to be explorers, discoverers, and creators. It is through play that children learn best. When a student is engaged they learn and grow. I would really appreciate your support in getting these items and helping to make my students’ first school year, one to remember. I want to continue to instill a love of learning, imaginative play, and risk-taking that will last each of them a lifetime!
My Project
In PreK, learning is achieved through student led discovery. The Number Bots will be an engaging way for the students to not only learn and identify their numbers, but will also help to build hand strength which is an important prewriting skill. The Kinetic Sand will also be a fun and engaging way to improve their hand strength and use their imagination to build and create. The Build and Create Magnetic people will help to bring diversity to the block center/science center and encourage group play, use of imagination and problem solving skills. The Tilt and Turn Sensory Windows will help my students work on their social and emotional skills and to learn strategies on calming down. My favorite request is for the sensory mazes and the color match caterpillar maze. These will be used to help build and improve fine motor skills and problem solving skills. Please help us to make this an amazing year full of learning, discovering, and a solid foundation of knowledge.
