This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are percussionists in a large high school band program. They learn to play many different instruments and are there for, required to own many different types of sticks and mallets. From time to time a piece requires unusual playing techniques in order to achieve a specific sound effect. Bass bows are often used to "bow" percussion instruments such as vibraphones, glockenspiels, crotales, or cymbals.

We have 4 bass bows that are old and worn out.

We just don't have a budget to replace them. My students work very hard, and I want to provide them with the best equipment possible in order to make their performances the best they can be.
