The kindergarten students at our school are as inquisitive as they are unique. Coming from a multitude of diverse backgrounds and individualized needs, our students are excited explorers and avid learners.
In kindergarten, we know that everyone has a different set of strengths, experiences, and needs that they bring to the table, both academically and personally.
We strive together to make growing, learning, and developing a tremendous experience for ourselves and for our peers. In order to ensure that each student thrives, we incorporate a variety of learning strategies, problem-solving techniques, and diverse materials.
My Project
Science has discovered so much more about how the brain learns to read, but many literacy and reading programs don't use this research. These teacher manuals will help my students, and every student who comes afterward, to gain important foundational reading skills, like letter sounds and sounding out words.
Students successful at basic reading skills in early grades (like kindergarten) are more likely to succeed later in school.
It can take 4x longer to remediate readers in 3rd grade than in kindergarten! With the Really Great Reading curriculum for kindergarten, called Countdown, kindergarten at our school will have the tools and strategies to help our students flourish, in kindergarten through graduation.
Be a part of our classroom community by donating to the project and sharing it with your friends!
