My Project
My students are amazing. The images they often see on social media, TV and films often contradict this absolute truth about them. They are constantly bombarded with images about how they should look and act that are not realistic nor are they healthy.
My students will use the sketch books in small groups to capture positive images about themselves.
We will be reading the book, Big, and use it as a reference to create self portrait mixed-media collages that include empowering words to improve self-esteem and uplift community values.
The glue sticks and markers will be used in the collages as they will be using Basquiat as a reference.
