My Project

I have had great success in the past using The New York Times Upfront magazine with students of all levels in my high school English classroom, and I would love to add this resource back to my curriculum this year. The magazine introduces students to a wide variety of topics using articles of various lengths and reading levels. The magazine has been a place to learn about current events, to find topics to research further, and to see real-world examples of the different types of writing we work on. I love having the ability to place actual print copies of a magazine in the hands of my high schoolers who don't always have much prior experience with this medium; the digital subscriptions will also make it easy for students to have access to the material when they are away from my classroom copies. I have used Upfront in so many different lessons in the past, and I'm excited about doing so again!
