This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach at a large, urban Title 1 school with a diverse group of students. My classroom includes gifted and talented learners, students overcoming learning differences, and English language learners. All of my students are diligent eager learners with a deep curiosity about the world.
A new computer will enable me to create engaging, state-of-the-art lessons that I would be able to update in real time.
It would be a valuable addition to my classroom, helping to accommodate both my visual learners and English language learners by enabling me to project lessons onto the board. With this computer, I would be able to run advanced software and applications that would make abstract math concepts easier to understand through visualizations, interactive simulations, and virtual manipulatives. A faster, more reliable computer will also help me with data tracking and monitoring student progress so that I can quickly adjust instruction as needed.
