Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The seventh and eighth grade students at our school are a group of highly-motivated and goal-oriented learners.

Each of our junior classrooms have chosen to participate in our school's Wildly Important Goal, which is, "Each class will complete one or more school improvement projects by May of 2019." The decision to participate in this school-wide goal is an authentic example of our students displaying high motivation, not only as learners, but also as members of our learning community.

Our students have eagerly approached their projects with grit and extreme motivation.

Our Wildly Important Goals and the goal-setting process therein has encouraged our students to not only deeply invest in bettering our school and community, but also invest in their academic learning as they feel more involved in school. Our junior high students have further taken the example of goal setting at a school wide level to create classroom and individual goals for success. It is so very powerful to watch our adolescent leaders grow in independence on a daily basis due to these practices!

We are so proud of each and every leader that is part of our school family!

My Project

Our junior high students will be able to use the materials in this project to continually increase their personal motivation and consistently work on their goal-setting practices.

Our current junior high technology is outdated, which causes a high degree of frustration while students are working.

New Chromebooks will help students to be able to work effectively on their academic tasks! Our students will be able to maintain a high-degree of motivation as their academic tools are updated.

New Chromebooks will also help our junior high students to easily draft, edit, submit, and revisit their personal goals throughout the academic year!
