Help me give my students access to high-quality history books! Specifically, we will use our graphic interpretation of the U.S. Constitution in our year-long study of civics and participation in government.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are recent immigrants to the United States. Our school is a diverse community, with students representing some 50 countries and speaking over 25 languages. My students have diverse needs and interests; they are caregivers, artists, baseball players, English language learners, activists, writers, and so much more.
My classroom is a dynamic learning space--a history class where we critically examine the history of the United States and the world from a variety of perspectives.
Students develop skills to think critically, enter academic discourse, and communicate their ideas with clarity and power.
My Project
We will use these new books in our year long study of civics and U.S. government. This graphic history is central to our study of civics and it is beautifully illustrated. As such, my students need a class set of this book. The graphic history of the U.S. constitution will be a class-text and a reference throughout the school year. In addition to this class text set, I've also asked for books that are relevant to my students' experiences and address U.S. histories that have long been overlooked.
With your support, we will deepen our study of U.S.
government, as well as the histories of queer, immigrant, and indigenous peoples.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
