Update My Collection - Current Average Date of 1993!

Help me give my students new books and books they're interested in. The Percy Jackson series, for instance, are some of my most requested books, but I only have one book from the set.

My Project

I was recently placed in a Middle/High School library that hasn't seen a collection update since before COVID! A recent report revealed that the average age of books in my collection is from 1993! None of these students were even born then!

I hate disappointing students when they ask "Do you have..." and I have to tell them "no".

Granted, this is only a drop in the bucket of what is needed, but it's a great start.

We're a rural, Title I, Ohio school with students who want to read. We're also a school, like many other, who have struggling readers. It's difficult to encourage reading when the books are old and falling apart. These new books would be cataloged and put into circulation for all students to enjoy.
