Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
At my school, we serve a very underprivileged group of individuals. These young ladies and gentlemen come from broken homes with little money, and all students receive free lunch. They have very little to look forward to, and that is something that I try to change within the walls of my classroom. I believe that through your help, my room can become a refuge for those students who see education as their way out of this downward spiral. In addition, I want my room to be a place where people who don't like education can eventually start to turn themselves around before they go to high school.
My Project
It would be nice to give the people who deserve it a different type of working condition. The kids at school work so hard but some of them need special areas in which to learn. As part of a modified seating arrangement it might be nice to add in some standing desks. This will help to promote circulation and hopefully minimize distraction from those students that get fidgety in their seats. I also think that the air tags will be good incase I need to loan out equipment from my room so I can find it for when people "borrow it without asking" or "forget to return" the items.
