My Students
An EF-4 tornado is not interested a young student's need to practice their knowledge of basic concepts. The tornado that devastated our school as well as our community eliminated all materials our students depended on to hone basic concept skills.
We service 75 students from 3 years of age through high school.
Approximately 15 preschool students, several Kindergarten students, and a few primary students are working on their basic concept skills. Descriptive, spatial, qualitative, and quantitative concepts require many sessions of practice for reinforcement. This allows these developmentally delayed students to stay on track with language skills development.
My Project
The requested resources will provide practice opportunities in both small group and individual sessions. It will give students hand-on skills practice to reinforce colors, shapes, positional terms, numbers, and phonemic awareness concepts. At the same time they may use their social language skills, practice and review vocabulary, and have a fun time too!
Currently, our students have 2 donated wooden puzzles.
They have no other manipulatives to use for skills practice and reinforcement. The opportunity to assist these little ones recapture their enthusiasm when trying to learn things that, to them, seem very difficult is significant. We hope you will consider donating to our project.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
