My Students

My students are a wonderful group of children that have enough personality for the entire school. Most are classified with a mild intellectual disability, while some show signs of mild autism. These children are the greatest kids in the parish and deserve the absolute best!

Our class is a special group of 15 middle school students who have Mild-Moderate Special Needs.

We work vigorously in academics, but also incorporate many life skills into our classroom. A few of those life skills are cooking, gardening, wood working, shopping, painting, and sewing.

My Project

My students and I are on a mission to shape each other's minds! How will we do that you may ask? We will be creating learning stations to get everyone involved. We are creating a Reading Rocks station, along with a Creative Minds station and a Writers Block station. Everything on our wish list already has a place in our humble abode. The reading rug will start at the foot of our book shelf, rolling out at an astounding 7'8" long! This will be our new and improved Reading Rocks station. The composition books will be the building blocks for the creative minds participating in this station. The daily paragraph editing books will be used in the Writers Block station to help improve their writing skills.

Your kind donations towards our project will be used as a building block on three essential skills: reading, writing, and creativity.

These stations will aid my students in their success in this classroom as well as in their future as scholars. Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom!
