This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine, being a single parent, working 40 plus hours a week, speaking another language, not completing high school, having multiple children, and all of those children share the same electronic device, not having childcare, and not having enough money to put food on the table or pay for utilities because work is limited. These are just some of the obstacles my families are facing at my school during the epidemic. Currently, 50% of my students are reaching out during live eLearning meetings. I would like to find a way to involve students in their learning process in other creative ways!

My Project

Picture students reading an engaging text, taking photos of their daily adventures with a printed, laminated bitmoji , and sharing their unplugged excursions with the teacher and fellow classmates. A weekly read aloud will take place while we're eLearning, but the "real fun" will exist through our very own personal trips outside, with our pets, cooking, completing art work, building projects with our families, playing board games, watching our favorite movies, reading our favorite books, and having an indoor camping session. To end this expedition, we will all view a class Powerpoint together and share our favorite snapshots.
