Unplug With Literacy and Mapping Projects

Help me give my students supplies for mapping exercises, historical research, and literacy exercises (highlighting keywords/unknown words, writing their thoughts) and unplug from screens! The pencil sharpeners/colored pencils will make big difference.

My Project

My students will have very limited screen time as we unplug and get back to the basics with hands on historical literacy and mapping exercises. We will be conducting country studies (coloring maps and learning about cultures around the world including our own!). The color pencils and pencil sharpeners are heavy duty and will help the students immensely.

The pencils, erasers, and highlighters will be used for historical literacy assignments as they learn to annotate historical documents and break them down to middle school terms!

We saw a positive impact on student vocabulary and reading with this method last year and hope to continue to build our students confidence and analyzing skills.

All my students will also be conducting historical research on people and places around the world from 1400’s to present! So all the items will be utilized as they write rough drafts for essays and make posters representing their research countries and people!
