Unpacking Propaganda and Bias Through Graphic Novels
Help me give my students a choice for what they read in the classroom. We are creating a graphic novel reading unit to teach students about propaganda, bias, and persuasive techniques.
Teaching students to think critically about the world around them is a crucial task of education. "Fahrenheit 451" is a classic and still very relevant text to broach this subject with and is easily approachable to students in this graphic novel format.
We are creating a unit that uses four different graphic novels to examine and discuss propaganda, bias, and persuasive techniques.
We want to give the students a choice for what they read because we know that choice is a huge factor in students being successful in reading class assignments.
