My Students
I have the joy of being in a classroom with identified gifted and talented children. They are not only academically bright but are wonderful young men and women - kind, curious, imaginative, socially and politically concerned. I absolutely love being a part of their growth and seeing the wonder in their eyes when we are learning together. I believe that my students deserve the very best, and your generous donations will make it possible.
My gifted students need to be challenged; so they can grow, explore curiosities, and try new things.
Most of my students have known each other since kindergarten, and have strong bonds with each other. To continue to push the envelope of learning in a comfortable and familiar setting, it is imperative for these students to gain access to hands-on, out of the box thinking, and engaging resources that connect them to their community and the world beyond our classroom!

My Project
Breakout Edu kits are like an escape room, but instead of breaking out of a room, students will collaboratively work together, using their content knowledge to break into the locks on a team box. While there are breakout "lessons" for all content areas, my primary use for the Breakout boxes will be to make the learning of ancient civilizations (Early humans, Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, Rome, China, Greece, and the Middle Ages) hands-on.
The use of breakout boxes will ensure student engagement and the development of critical, high-level thinking skills.
Additionally, the Breakout Edu platform provides access to over 1,500 immersive and standards-based games. Students will not only be engaged in learning, but they will also build critical 21st-century skills such as collaboration and communication.
