This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Imagine a classroom where learning feels like play, and every child grows at their own pace with tools designed just for them. That’s the dream I have for my special education early childhood students, and that’s why I’m requesting Montessori-style wooden toys.

Montessori toys are sensory-rich, engaging, and designed to foster independence.

Items like stacking blocks, puzzles, and bead threading kits help develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving, and early math and literacy concepts. For students with developmental delays or sensory challenges, these hands-on materials bridge the gap between curiosity and understanding, making learning accessible and enjoyable.

I aim to create a nurturing environment where students feel empowered to explore and succeed. These materials will support their unique learning styles, foster independence, and build critical foundational skills. My hope is that every child experiences joy and accomplishment through purposeful play.

My students are remarkable for their determination and resilience. They bring unique sparks to the classroom with their curiosity, laughter, and creative problem-solving. Though they face diverse challenges, their potential is limitless. They inspire me every day, and it’s my mission to provide the tools they need to thrive.
