My Project

Every student that walks through our doors is special, unique, and displays their learning needs in their own ways. Our students' diverse abilities and needs make our classroom a vibrant and dynamic environment. They inspire us to create tailored approaches that support their individual learning journeys. By addressing their sensory processing needs, we can unlock their full potential and foster a more inclusive and supportive educational experience.

Our primary goal is to effectively impact the lives of students with significant sensory processing needs and increase their ability to learn in the school setting.

By integrating sensory tools and activities into the classroom, we aim to:

Enhance Learning Abilities:

Provide sensory input that supports cognitive functions and academic performance.

Regulate Emotions:

Offer sensory activities that help students manage their emotions and reduce anxiety and stress.

Improve Sensory Processing:

Equip students with the tools to better process sensory information, leading to improved focus and engagement.

How These Items Will Make a Difference

Vestibular input is crucial for developing balance, coordination, and spatial orientation. A classroom swing will provide necessary vestibular stimulation, helping students improve focus, reduce anxiety, and prepare their bodies for learning.

Gentle pressure from inflatable furniture can provide deep touch pressure, which is calming and helps with proprioceptive input. This type of input is essential for body awareness and can reduce anxiety and hyperactivity.

Swivel chairs allow students to engage in spinning, which can be soothing and help with sensory regulation. This movement can improve vestibular function and help students maintain focus.

Sensory tables offer tactile stimulation, which is essential for sensory integration. Engaging with different textures can help students improve fine motor skills, explore their senses, and calm themselves.
