Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Despite being part of an underfunded school and often lacking access to the same resources as their peers in more privileged communities, they show up every day with curiosity, energy, and a desire to grow. I love their creativity, their humor, their determination, and the way they support each other like brothers.
These boys are full of potential, but they need tools that reflect their value and support the way they learn best.
Many of them are multiple grade levels behind in math and struggle with traditional, textbook-heavy instruction. A smart board would allow me to turn lessons into engaging, visual, interactive experiences. It would help students better understand complex math concepts through real-time demonstrations, collaborative problem solving, and dynamic visuals.
This technology will help me meet them where they are—making learning more inclusive for visual and kinesthetic learners, and helping students who need extra support stay involved without feeling left behind. More importantly, it will show my students that they matter, and that their education is worth investing in. With the right tools, they can and will succeed.
