Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Thinking Putty is a fun and great tool for learners as it combines play with learning. The experience of squishing, stretching, and shaping the putty can improve fine motor skills, which is necessary for young learners. Thinking Putty is a tool that can enhance fine motor skills. By engaging in activities like stretching, squeezing, and rolling the putty, children develop hand strength and coordination, which are essential for tasks like writing. This improved hand strength helps with pencil grip, making writing easier and more controlled. Thinking Putty can improve focus and attention, benefiting academic areas like math and science, where problem-solving and fine motor skills are key. Overall, regular use of Thinking Putty helps lay the foundation for both academic success and physical development. The putty can also serve as a calming tool for children who need sensory breaks, which helps them regulate emotions and stay engaged in learning.

The main goal of introducing Thinking Putty is to enhance sensory learning and promote hands-on, interactive play that helps my students grow:

- To improve fine motor skills as students manipulate and shape the putty.

- To foster creativity and imaginative play by encouraging students to use the putty in different ways.

- To promote focus and concentration by giving students a tool they can use during independent or group activities.

- To provide a calming and soothing tool for children who may need sensory breaks to self-regulate their emotions and stay engaged in the classroom.

- To support collaborative play, encouraging children to work together, share, and communicate as they explore new ways to use the putty.

My students are special for many reasons:

They have a strong desire to explore, ask questions, and are very creative. They enjoy problem-solving and are eager to learn new things.
