Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work in a Spanish Dual Language Immersion (DLI) classroom where 50% of my students are native Spanish speakers hailing from diverse backgrounds, while the other 50% are English native speakers. This rich linguistic and cultural blend creates a truly dynamic learning environment.

By providing the requested materials such as Crayola acrylic paints, watercolors, tracing pads, multimedia paper, paint brushes, glow in the dark paint, and pastels, we can bridge language barriers and foster inclusive learning experiences.

These art supplies will serve as powerful tools for self-expression and communication, allowing both groups of students to express their ideas and emotions regardless of their native language.

Through engaging art lessons, I aim to create an environment where students can collaborate, learn from one another, and celebrate their unique cultural perspectives. Students will have the opportunity to express themselves in Spanish and English, developing language proficiency and building bridges of understanding between their respective communities.

These art supplies will enable my students to explore their shared and diverse identities, fostering empathy, respect, and appreciation for one another. By embracing their cultural backgrounds and linguistic abilities, they will gain a deeper understanding of the world around them and become global citizens.

Your support for our project will not only provide essential art materials but also contribute to the cultural and linguistic enrichment of all my students. Together, we can create a nurturing space where diversity is celebrated, languages are honored, and creativity knows no boundaries.
