Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love that my students show up every day with curiosity and potential, even when math has been a struggle for them in the past. Many of my Algebra 2 students are at least three grade levels behind in math, but they are not defined by their test scores.
My students are creative thinkers, problem-solvers in the making, and capable of success when given the right support.
This project will provide motivational posters, encouragement stamps, rulers, scissors, markers, hands-on math manipulatives and other tools that my students will use to help bridge those foundational gaps. These resources will make learning math more accessible, engaging, and confidence-building. With the right supports in place, my students can catch up, keep up, and even get ahead. These tools will motivate them to persevere through challenges and develop the skills they need not just for my class, but for their future education and beyond. I truly believe all students can learn math; it just takes the right tools and the right encouragement. This project helps provide both.
