This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a fifth grade teacher, my students feel anxious and excited to delve into the world of middle school. The book, Restart, follows a middle school student as he navigates life, specifically middle school and all that comes with it, including losing friends and awkward, inevitable moments, after losing his memory.
Providing the opportunity for fifth graders to catch of glimpse of what awaits them in middle school will not only help them prepare for pivotal moments in their life that are to come, but it will also help them relate through a good book, further fostering a love for reading!
