Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Kindergarten students love to learn, and they learn by playing. Over the years, my students' play has focused on family and friends at heart. They celebrate each other with birthday parties, graduations, growing families with babies and weddings, outings at restaurants, cultural holidays, family traditions, and the importance of the community around them with recognition of waiters, chefs, agricultural processes, and food preparation.
During dramatic play, the students learn to communicate, cooperate, and honor each other's diverse backgrounds.
In addition, dramatic play is an enriching opportunity for students to develop compassion, kindness, and self-esteem. Aside from social-emotional development, dramatic play offers vast opportunities for academic and linguistic development. When English learners and native English speakers join in dramatic play, they learn rich academic language as well as approximate real-world interactions.
Please help bridge the gap of infinite imagination to the magic of their environment by supporting the purchase of this play kitchen.
