Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a tuition-free, public charter elementary school located in East Los Angeles. The mission of our school is to teach the knowledge and skills, nurture the confidence and character, and inspire the passion needed for students to achieve their goals, excel in the competitive world, and positively impact the community through excellence in thought and action. Our school has earned the California Distinguished School award and has been named a National Blue Ribbon School as well.

My students are artistic and creative.

My students love drawing and coloring. They enjoy art projects, drawing illustrations for their writing, and coloring for fun. Having more art supplies would enable my students to have access to all colors and inspire their creativity.

My Project

The choices in the usual crayon box are not enough. Color options should not limit a student's creativity. It would be so meaningful for my students to see and use crayons that reflect an accurate representation of the color of their skin.

The People of Colors Crayon Pack includes 24 crayons in 24 different People Colors.

These colors are vivid and will help students be creative. My students will be happy to have crayons that are the shade they need to draw different kinds of people.

The People Colors Crayon Pack is a must-have set for all of my students. Students should have access to art materials that they can use to represent their community. Students should be able to color realistic-colored self-portraits, friends, and family members. My students and I would be incredibly grateful to have these crayons in our classroom. Thank you.
