Our smart and engaging students are interested in expanded opportunities. They want to explore their ideas with hands-on projects that allow them to develop and solve problems in a way that reflects the nature of such context in real life. Our students only see possibilities in the world despite the many obstacles they face outside the classroom. Our students are bright, engaging, clever and believe in themselves. As their teacher, I am committed to providing them with unlimited opportunities to have fun.
My Project
We use technology a lot in my classroom. My students create art, videos, stop motion animation and three dimensional prints. All of this is done using our iPads. It is incredibly difficult, however, to huddle an entire classroom full of kids around an iPad while teaching. We desperately are in need of an Apple TV so we may mirror our work to a larger screen. My students could share their work with the entire class in real time if we had this technology. Teaching the design intricacies of our 3D program could happen with the entire class. Students could share and ask questions allowing them to teach each other with their experiences. When not sharing work or learning about program capabilities we could make use of the many scenic meditation apps available through Apple. Especially since our creative class has no windows. My students would benefit from the transparency this would provide our learning environment.
