My Project

My students are part of a program for sessional am/pm PreK3. This program gives children from all cultures, areas, and incomes an opportunity to learn and thrive within the district. PreK3 is often the first time many of our students are spending time away from home for extended periods.

While school is often thought of as a place to learn academics, it is also where children observe and develop social skills, awareness and empathy.

A significant component to learning in PreK3 is social emotional development and therefore building the foundations for children to become well-balanced positive members in their community. The selection of books in this project will be added to our small collection of culture, diversity & SEL books in our classroom library. The light shade covers will help reduce harsh light and encourage calm & focus.
