This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students are from a community and school with limited resources. The music program has no budget, and yet we get through the year with donations. Many of my students rehearse almost every day, after school, to supplement the time they may have during class. Students prefer to stay in the music room before class, during lunch, and late after school.

My students are a mixture of 9th through 12th graders who are eager learners and members of the Marching band in our school's music program.

My Project

Last school year the band received uniforms that are light and durable. For years our drum Major has been the only member using a sample uniform while the rest of the band has waited to have their own. The new uniforms are machine washable and that should help us with our scares funds. There are several missing parts that prohibit our band to have complete sets for our members.

Donations will help complete the uniforms for the Marching Band, helping the student's morality and pride during performances for years to come.

Other schools have received uniforms and I believe my students deserve them too.
