My Project

Understanding fractions is a critical component of the 5th-grade math curriculum. However, many students face challenges in grasping abstract concepts without concrete visual aids. Fraction bar manipulatives can bridge this gap, offering tactile and visual learning opportunities to enhance students' comprehension and engagement. To improve students' understanding of fractions by providing each student with a set of fraction bar manipulatives, facilitating hands-on learning and supporting diverse learning styles. Manipulative help with the following.

-Concrete Learning: Fraction bars allow students to visualize and physically manipulate fractions, making abstract concepts more tangible.

-Differentiated Instruction: These tools cater to various learning styles, particularly benefiting visual and kinesthetic learners.

Engagement: Manipulatives make learning interactive and fun, increasing student motivation and participation.

-Research Support: According to Marzano's "The Art and Science of Teaching," using physical models helps students understand and retain complex concepts.
