This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are the most amazing, creative kids, who live in a severely depressed part of the poor city of Bridgeport, CT. One hundred percent of our school receives free breakfast and lunch every day. For many of my students I think these are the only hot meals they receive each day.
Our neighborhood is filled with wonderful families who are doing their best to survive; but fight the constant battles of poverty.
Many of my students come from homes, with single parents who are doing their best to raise kids in a tough neighborhood.
My Project
My students are working hard to creating an underwater seascape mural in our school. They have researched mammals, crustaceans and fish to include in our 10' x 30' mural. We need these paint pens to add details to their painting. This mural is in the entrance hallway of our school and will be enjoyed for years to come! We want to make it AMAZING!
These paint pens will give students the ability to add smaller details like gills, exoskeletons, scales and other specifics to their sea creatures.
We will be able to add richness and authenticity to our mural for the school and community to enjoy! Students will have the ability to add minute elements that will make our mural more elaborate.
